Morris Shloss family correspondence : photocopies of ALS, [undated].

Chiefly letters from Morris Shloss in San Francisco to family membersin England, dated 1850-1874. Includes one letter to his brother (1850), describing his new life in San Francisco; letters to his sister-in-law, Elizabeth (Betty or Betsy) Caro; and letters to his nephew, Charles Morris Caro (1872-1873). Also includes a few letter fragments from Elizabeth Caro's husband, written from Valparaiso, Portland, and San Francisco (1850-1851); miscellaneous letters to Charles Caro from other relatives; a portion of a travel diary by Charles Caro (Aug.-Sept. 1873), aboard the steamship Montana from San Francisco; a copy of M. Shloss's business card for his dry goods store in San Francisco; and a telegram from Charles to Morris, notifying the latter of his planned arrival time in San Francisco (1872).
